JB Nelson Families,

Thank you to the 18 parents that have already participated in the parent survey supplement of the Illinois 5Essentials Survey. Your participation in the parent survey will help us understand the conditions at your child’s school and guide improvement. We guarantee that survey responses will never be connected to the identity of you or your child. School reports will only show aggregated information on how parents and students responded as a whole.

The 18 parents that have completed the survey make up 5% of our population. We need to have 20% of the parents complete the survey in order to receive results.

Roller skating begins Monday! This will take place during your child’s P.E class for all 1st-5th grade students. Please click on the link below for additional info and the upcoming skating schedule for each class. JBN Skating Calendar

Our annual PTO Trivia night is coming up on Saturday, March 9th. This is an adult only event that is one of my favorite events of the year. Teams can come up with a fun name and dress up for prizes, bring their own food and beverages are available to be purchased at the event. All money raised goes directly to the Teacher Appreciation and the 5th grade Celebration at the end of the year!

I tweeted out information about the city project that will impact arrival and dismissal at JBN this spring. Please look over this information that the city shared with the district this week and be prepared to use alternate routes.

Enjoy your extra day off tomorrow as the teachers have an Institute day.

Battle of the Books (4th & 5th Grade Ss)

4th & 5th grade students who are signed up for Battle of the Books are gearing up for the start of our local battles. All battles will happen during the school day. Good luck to all of our participants!

Treering allows you to customize your yearbook! Two free pages with your own photos and memories, plus $.99 for each additional 2 pages if you need them. These extra pages make it so fun and personal, and they will appear only in your yearbook(s). Custom pages are able to be purchased & edited until April 6th. Current total: $169.20 ~ 5th grade is leading, followed closely by 3rd grade!

The Limited Time Bonus promos (see photo) are updated monthly! Receipts are valid to scan for 14 days from purchase date, and can be scanned from any account (so if you don’t scan yourself, just save your receipts for another parent who does)! The app also has a leaderboard to see which JBN grade level has the most tops scanned. Twice a year, our school receives a check from Box Tops to help pay for things, like events or activities for the kids.
