JB Nelson Families,
Students and staff enjoyed their winter holiday parties this afternoon. THANK YOU to all parents that volunteered to make this such a fun and memorable event for them.
As we transition into the winter break we know that many of our students will be receiving toys as gifts. We want to remind you that toys are not allowed at school unless the teacher has communicated a special “celebration” with parents. Often children are excited to share their new toys with others but it becomes a distraction, they get broken or lost and then there is upset. We will remind students of this expectation, but if you could help them keep their new toys at home in the new year that would be appreciated.
Staff will return from break on Monday, January 8th and students will return to school on Tuesday, January 9th.
We hope you enjoy your time off and we will see you all on Tuesday, January 9th!

4th & 5th Grade Coding Club
Mrs. Phillips will be running a Coding Club from January 10th-February 28th. Students will meet on Wednesday mornings from 8-9am in the LRC. Click here for Coding Club registration. Please contact julie.phillips@bps101.net with any questions.

4th & 5th Graders-Breakfast With Books
The LRC will be hosting a Breakfast With Books discussion on Tuesday, January 9th at 8am in LRC. Students in 4th and 5th grade are all invited to join. Please sign up using this form. Please email julie.phillips@bps101.net with any questions.

2023/2024 Yearbook information!
Treering allows you to customize your yearbook! Two free pages with your own photos and memories, plus $.99 for each additional 2 pages. These extra pages make it so fun and personal, and they will appear only in your yearbook(s). Custom pages are able to be purchased and edited until April 6th. Open Committee Positions
Available committees include: BoxTops and Teacher Prep! Just navigate to the Committees area of the PTO website and click on any of these open committees to sign up. Our PTO has a binder of information to provide you with all the tools you need for your committee. As always, if you’re curious but have questions, just email us or attend a monthly meeting and ask!

2023-2024 Goal: $200
Current total: $90.80 ~ 3rd grade is leading, followed by 5th grade!
Download the apps: Apple Store or Play Store. Make JB Nelson your home school to start scanning. There are some amazing Limited Time Bonus Promos to take advantage of. The app also has a leaderboard to see which JBN grade level has the most tops scanned. Twice a year, our school receives a check from Box Tops to help pay for things, like events or activities for the kids. Receipts are valid to scan for 14 days from purchase date, and can be scanned from any account (so if you don’t scan, just give your receipts to a parent who does!).
