JB Nelson Families,

As a reminder, our annual Veterans Day event will be held at JB Nelson on Friday, November 11th. We are bringing back our Veteran Breakfast which is held before school (8:30) in the lunchroom and organized by our student leaders. We need families to donate food, flatware and time to support this breakfast. Please sign up for food using this link. Food can be dropped off the day before and stored in our Faculty Lounge if needed.

This link will take you to a letter about Veterans day that was sent home with students. It has the RSVP for the breakfast and the template to fill out if you would like your veteran to be on our Wall of Honor.

Our annual fall JBN spirit wear sale is now live! Please click at the link on our PTO website to order fun spirit wear for your children! All orders can be delivered right to your home or picked up locally at Black Cactus Printing in downtown Batavia. All orders will be ready before the holidays if you are interested in holiday gifts.

I hope that you all enjoy your weekend and we will welcome students back to school on Monday.

Daylight savings takes place this weekend, make sure to “fall back” an hour on Sunday!

Also, a reminder that next Tuesday there will be NO SCHOOL for students due to election day.

~Mrs. Prentiss

Art Appreciation

Being an Art Volunteer means coordinating with a classroom teacher once a month, in your child’s classroom or any other classroom.  The volunteer teaches the students about an artist or style, then the students do an art project around that lesson. Class lessons are led by our volunteers and are around 30-45 min.  We have about 20 prints and many lesson plans to use.  You do not need to have any prior experience and there will be a short “training” to show you where to locate all of the art materials.  Students really love this program and you will definitely have fun!  Art Appreciation Sign up
