JB Nelson Families,
Winter weather is sure keeping us on our toes isn’t it?! Thank you for sending your child’s winter gear with them every day so that they are ready no matter what the weather does!
All grades completed their winter MAP tests this week. Now our teams are analyzing the data and looking at next steps within our instruction.
Our annual roller skating unit is coming! Mr. Albrecht has asked that parents fill out the skating permission slip and let him know what shoe size their child is by February 13th. (Click on the link below) This permission slips is only for grades 1-5. The skating unit will start March 4th and go until spring break.

The JBN PTO was excited to host our second annual BINGO night at Pal Joey’s last night!
All money that is raised this year will go toward the PTO’s end of the year Carnival which is being planned now.
The next event on the calendar is Family Science night! This event will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024. Use this QR code to sign your child up to participate. There are many different ways for JBn students to have a science experience. They can share a collection, do research on a scientist or do an old fashioned experiment. If they do not participate in these ways, they can also attend the event and enjoy what everyone else brought and see the presenter!
Please try to stay warm, enjoy your weekend, and we will see you on Monday!

Box Tops
2023-2024 Goal: $200
Current total: $120.60 ~ 3rd grade is leading, followed closely by 5th grade!
Download the apps: Apple Store or Play Store and make JB Nelson your home school.
It’s that time of year again for amazing Limited Time Bonus promos! Some stores are offering as many as 50-55 bonus box tops for scanning 5 items on a single receipt. You can usually get up to 5 claims per receipt, too. Example: if one person were to purchase 25 boxes of Annie’s Mac & Cheese at Jewel/Osco, they would earn a total of $30 in box tops!
The app also has a leaderboard to see which JBN grade level has the most tops scanned. Twice a year, our school receives a check from Box Tops to help pay for things, like events or activities for the kids. Receipts are valid to scan for 14 days from purchase date, and can be scanned from any account (so if you don’t scan yourself, just save your receipts for another parent who does)!
