Thank you to ALL families that donated money and participated in the Jaguar Jog fundraiser last night! We had fun and raised money for K-5 Ss to go on field trips, Author visits and the “Chill Zone” at recess. We had a full week of learning. Firefighters came to teach safety lessons to all students K-5 yesterday. Your child learned what to expect if firefighters come to put out a fire and how to “stop, drop and roll” if it is needed. Halloween is coming! As you shop for your child’s costume please keep in mind that fake blood and fake weapons are not allowed at school on Halloween day. We are going to hold our parties first and our parade at the end of the day this year. All parents are invited to stand along the parade route outside and take pictures of their students. The parade will be at 3:10 and the students will get ready to dismiss and leave at 3:30! We hope that by making the parade later, this allows more parents to attend the parade. As I shared in my newsletter last week, there are some changes this year with class parties. In order to have consistent party experiences and to put less pressure on parent volunteers, the PTO put together a committee and they are planning S.T.E.A.M. related parties for Fall (Thurs. Oct. 31st), Winter (Fri. Dec. 20th), and End (Fri. May 16th) of year class parties! This means that if you sign up to help with these parties, you no longer are responsible for planning the activities, purchasing the materials, or coordinating with the teachers. You will sign up on the PTO website, be given a training session in a Google Meet on and the materials will be purchased and prepped for you. There will be 5 volunteer slots for each class for each party for our first round of parties. The sign up to volunteer for the fall party will go “live” tomorrow (Saturday, October 5th) at 10 AM on the PTO website. BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships The PTO will meet in the LRC at 6:30PM on: August 6th September 3rd October 1st November 12th December 10th January 14th February 11th March 11th April 8th Meetings are in the LRC and childcare is provided. The PTO plans ALL JBN family events for the school year. “Like” JBN PTO on JBN PTO Facebook and read the weekly PTO newsletter sent to you via email. |
