JB Nelson Families,
We had a short week, but we packed a lot into it! Thank you for attending your child’s parent/teacher conference and for all of you that participated in our fall Walk & Roll to school event yesterday. Every year the Batavia Mothers Club holds a winter coat/gear drive. Please bring in any gently used winter coats, snowsuits, scarves, gloves, hats and boots and place them in the bin in the foyer of the school. This collection ends on October 17th. Halloween is coming! As you shop for your child’s costume please keep in mind that fake blood and fake weapons are not allowed at school on Halloween day. We are going to hold our parties first and our parade at the end of the day this year. All parents are invited to stand along the parade route outside and take pictures of their students. The parade will be at 3:10 and the students will get ready to dismiss and leave at 3:30! We hope that by making the parade later, this allows more parents to attend the parade. BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships Sign up for the S.T.E.M. Club! STEM Club sign up S.T.E.M. club is a fun way for students to explore science, math and engineering. We will meet before school in the LRC from 7:45-8:45. Students can sign up for either fall OR spring S.T.E.M. club. Each session will last three consecutive weeks where students will work on a fun S.T.E.M. project. Grades 3-5 Fall STEM club will be held October 9, 16, 23 Grades K-2 Fall STEM club will be November 6, 13, and 20 Grades 3-5 Spring STEM club will be February 5, 12, and 19 Grades K-2 Spring STEM club will be February 26, March 5 and 12. BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships The PTO will meet in the LRC at 6:30PM on: August 6th September 3rd October 1st November 12th December 10th January 14th February 11th March 11th April 8th Meetings are in the LRC and childcare is provided.
