JB Nelson Families,
The 2023-24 Illinois Supplemental Parent Survey opened on January 30th and the window will close on March 29, 2024.

Our Family Science night is next Thursday, February 22, 2024. Use this QR code to sign your child up to participate. There are many different ways for JBN students to have a science experience. They can share a collection, do research on a scientist or do an old fashioned experiment. If they do not participate in these ways, they can also attend the event and enjoy what everyone else brought and see the presenter!
Our annual PTO Trivia night is coming up on Saturday, March 9th. This is an adult only event that is one of my favorite events of the year. Teams can come up with a fun name and dress up for prizes, bring their own food and beverages are available to be purchased at the event. All money raised goes directly to the Teacher Appreciation and the 5th grade Celebration at the end of the year!
There is no school on Monday due to the President’s Day holiday.

Battle of the Books-4th & 5th Graders
Students in 4th and 5th grade were excited to hear about the 17th annual Battle of the Books competition during LRC this week. All students in 4th and 5th grade are invited to participate. 2023/2024 Yearbook information!
Treering allows you to customize your yearbook! Two free pages with your own photos and memories, plus $.99 for each additional 2 pages if you need them. These extra pages make it so fun and personal, and they will appear only in your yearbook(s). Custom pages are able to be purchased & edited until April 6th. Superintendent Tom Kim is looking for parents/guardians to join him in a Vision Session to share their ideas about the future of BPS101. The session will be conducted on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 8:15-10:15 AM. If you are interested, please RSVP by February 24th. Click Here to Register.
Batavia Special-Education Parent Network’s (BSPN) Parent Resource Fair
BSPN will host their annual Parent Resource Fair on Thursday, February 22, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM in the Batavia High School Cafeteria. It is a wonderful night with community resources for students from early childhood through age 22+, including recreational opportunities, therapy providers, educational consultants, transition planning, advocacy, and support. Admission is Free. All families, friends, and community members (not limited to Batavia) are invited to attend. Visit BSPN-Batavia.org for more information.

The Limited Time Bonus promos (see photo) are updated monthly! Receipts are valid to scan for 14 days from purchase date, and can be scanned from any account (so if you don’t scan yourself, just save your receipts for another parent who does)! The app also has a leaderboard to see which JBN grade level has the most tops scanned. Twice a year, our school receives a check from Box Tops to help pay for things, like events or activities for the kids.
