JB Nelson Families,

There were so many bittersweet moments this last week of the school year. We celebrated JBN alumni who were graduating from BHS, we celebrated our 5th grade students that are moving on to RMS and we held our annual field day and school tug traditions. It has been quite a year as we have slowly transitioned back into typical school routines and as much as I am looking forward to summer, I am very excited about the plans we are making to welcome students back next year!

Our office team heard from 20 parents this week when the yearbooks were handed out that they had missed the ordering deadline and were still interested in ordering a yearbook. If you have already called the office, you are on a list! If you have not, but you are interested in purchasing a yearbook please call the office to get added to the list. Due to a reprint charge the cost has increased $2.00. You will need to bring $18.00 in cash or a check made payable to: JB Nelson Elementary by 4:00 tomorrow. We will put in one more order and will call parents when they arrive. If you are on vacation and cannot pick up the yearbook, we will label it and give it to your child when they return in the fall. I have signed a contract with a new yearbook company next year that will allow parents to order directly to their site without any deadlines so this should not be an issue in the future.

Each Spring, our art teacher Mrs. Bach coordinates the Spring art show. Parents are invited to come and view artwork that their child created. Earlier this year, the decision was made to keep the spring art show as a virtual event for one more year. Students in first through fifth grades curated and created their very own virtual art show to reflect all the amazing artwork that they created this year! Each grade is organized by class and each student created their own atavar and chose the art pieces for their slide.

Enjoy your summer vacation and we look forward to seeing you and our students returning on August 16th!
