JB Nelson Families,
Thank you to all of the volunteers that supported our Fifth grade celebrations and Indoor Field day. We could not do these fun events without your support. It was great to see so many of you at our All School Tug and Fifth grade “Clap out” yesterday. These last weeks of school are so busy but also rewarding as we close another year and look forward to summer adventures!
ATTENTION 4TH GRADE FAMILIES: IT’S NOT TOO LATE! We have OVER 200 incoming 5th graders signed up for band and orchestra, and we don’t want your future musician to miss out! Mrs. Hatfield still needs more: flutes, clarinets, trombones, baritones, and violins! Please fill out THIS FORM to get started on your new musical adventure!
ENCORE! ENCORE! Incoming 5th and 6th grade students can be a part of Batavia’s beloved Summer Encore Music Camp by signing up to sing in the Show Choir or play in the Band or Orchestra! 4 days of music, friends, and FUN! Register HERE today!
I truly cannot believe that this was our last week of school.
It has been a great year. I appreciate all of the partnerships with our families that have allowed us to help our children learn and grow at school and have fun at our events. I hope that you all enjoy your summer vacation time and we will be back before you know it!

For the month of May, our focus is on Community
Community and teamwork means working together as a group to support and help each other. It’s about sharing ideas, listening to others, and solving problems as a team. When we work as a community, we create a positive space where everyone feels valued, included, and ready to learn. Teamwork helps us reach goals together, celebrate each other’s strengths, and build lasting friendships. It’s not about doing everything alone—it’s about working side by side and lifting each other up
Students are learning and reflecting on their classroom communities and our school wide community at JB.
