JB Nelson Families,

The students enjoyed a short performance from the high school Madrigal singers yesterday. They were able to sing along with “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer” and “Jingle Bells” before the ensemble had to leave and move on to the next elementary school. It was so much fun to see JB alumni in the group when I could remember them sitting in the audience years ago.

We will have a guest visitor Anton Inglese at our next Prowl (PTO) meeting on Tuesday December 13th.    He will attend in order to share information about updates to the JB Nelson building that will begin this summer. We will meet in the LRC from 6:30-8:00. If you are unable to attend in person, please use this link to join the meeting remotely. This link is also in the parent calendar!

We were able to get volunteers for ALL classrooms for our upcoming Winter parties! Thank you to all who signed up to support these parties on Wednesday, December 21st from 2:45-3:15.

Many of you have holiday shopping on your “to do” list. If you want to get some ideas for what JB staff might enjoy, Click here for an updated list staff with their  “favorites” listed in alphabetical order.

We hope you enjoy your weekend and will see you on Monday!

~Mrs. Prentiss

2022/2023 Yearbook information

This year, we are using Treering for our Yearbook vendor. They allow you to customize 2 free pages with your own photos and memories, plus $.99 for each additional 2 pages if needed. How cool! These pages will only appear in your yearbook(s). Custom pages are able to be purchased and edited until April 14th. To order and customize, go to www.treering.com/validate and enter code 1016529189553330

Art Appreciation

Being an Art Volunteer means coordinating with a classroom teacher once a month, in your child’s classroom or any other classroom.  The volunteer teaches the students about an artist or style, then the students do an art project around that lesson. Class lessons are led by our volunteers and are around 30-45 min.  We have about 20 prints and many lesson plans to use.  You do not need to have any prior experience and there will be a short “training” to show you where to locate all of the art materials.  Students really love this program and you will definitely have fun!  Art Appreciation Sign up
