JB Nelson Families,

Our “Stronger Together” Jaguar Jog was a huge success. The donation link will be closing Friday night but at our PTO meeting last night the treasurer shared that we have made over $11,000! We are humbled by your support and generosity. Mr. Mannion, Ms. Amy and I will all be slimed on Halloween! We chose this date as this is a time that we have most of our parents attend to watch the parade and support the Fall parties. We will put all staff and students into a “randomizer” and pick staff and students to “slime” each of us. As we get close we will share times and more details about this event.

Tonight is our late night for P/T conferences. I will be the “door greeter” at the front entrance. THANK YOU to all of you that donated Chili, salad, sides and desserts for our teachers today!

We hope you are enjoying the Wishtree book! Our Wishtree chapters for next week are 36-40. This week was our last character scavenger hunt. Next week we will focus on doing acts that students can do to support Belonging here at JBN.

First through fifth grade students have a half day tomorrow and will be released at 12:00. Kindergarten students do not have school tomorrow. All students are off on Friday and Monday.

As always, please make sure your child charges their Chromebook so they are ready for learning on Tuesday!

All students at JBN learn about social emotional skills in their daily classroom meetings.

All teachers follow the District’s Portrait of a Graduate sequence grades K-5.

For the month of  October our focus will be on Mindset & Goals.

Your mindset is how you think about learning. A growth mindset means believing you can get better by trying, practicing, and learning from mistakes.

Students are exploring what it means to have a growth mindset through videos and books.  Check out this list to read some at home!
