Principal’s Message Do you follow us on Instagram? See what is happening at JB! Click here. All JBN events are on the JBN Parent calendar JB Nelson Families, The weather definitely started to feel more like Fall this week. I have reminded all students that part of the “JB Promise” is being responsible, and part of that is wearing appropriate clothing when it is cold. Please make sure that your child’s jacket/hoodie/coat has their name on it. Also, it’s time to think about updating their “back up” clothes that they keep in their locker in case of an accident or fall at recess in the mud. What families need to know about next Friday, October 31st at JBN: Students are welcome to bring their Halloween costumes in a bag, they should NOT wear them to school. There can be no fake weapons or blood., save that for after school!
We hope you are enjoying the Wishtree book! Our Wishtree chapters for next week are 46-51 and we will finish the book! As always, please make sure your child charges their Chromebook and has their comfy clothes so they are ready for learning on our Mindful Monday! Mrs. Prentiss |

BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 3-Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Programs BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships All students at JBN learn about social emotional skills in their daily classroom meetings. All teachers follow the District’s Portrait of a Graduate sequence grades K-5. For the month of October our focus will be on Mindset & Goals. A goal is something you want to achieve, like reading better or making new friends. To reach a goal, you keep trying and never give up! Students are exploring what a goal is, how to set a goal, and what SMART goals are. Below you can find some questions to talk about goal setting and what it means to work toward a goal. Discussion
