All JBN events are on the JBN Parent calendar JB Nelson Families, Thank you to all families that collected donations and attended our “Stronger Together” Jaguar Jog last night! We have been blown away by your generosity as we surpassed our $7,500 goal and have exceeded our “stretch” goal of $10,000! This means that Mr. Mannion, Ms. Amy and I will be slimed! More information coming soon about when, where, how and who the sliming will occur! The JBN Art Club for 3rd-5th graders starts this Month! If you are interested in signing up for before school art club, please fill out this Google form: ART CLUB SIGN UP We hope you are enjoying Wishtree! Our Wishtree chapters for next week are 31-35. We are halfway through the book! Next week will be our last character scavenger hunt. We will see you all on Monday where we will continue our “Mindful Monday” series for the year and continue our focus on Mindset & Goals. S.E.L. (Social Emotional Learning) School-Home connections to help students grow their SEL skills! BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 3-Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Programs BPS Strategic Plan Priority 2, Strategy 4-Family & Community Partnerships All students at JBN learn about social emotional skills in their daily classroom meetings. All teachers follow the District’s Portrait of a Graduate sequence grades K-5. For the month of October our focus will be on Mindset & Goals. Your mindset is how you think about learning. A growth mindset means believing you can get better by trying, practicing, and learning from mistakes. Students are exploring what it means to have a growth mindset through videos and books. Check out the list below to read some at home! |
