Principal’s Message
JB Nelson Families, We started MAP testing this week and students have been giving their best effort to show what they have learned since we tested in the fall. Today, our K-Kids student leaders announced that they have raised over $1,200 to support the Red Cross and the conflict in the Ukraine. THANK YOU for all of your generous donations. The K-Kids will continue to collect money through next Friday. We have a Campus Monitor (aka lunch/recess supervisor) opening! One of our team needed to take a step back for personal reasons and we are looking for someone who loves kids and being outdoors. The hours are 11:10-1:1:30 and we have a really positive and supportive team that is fun to work with. If you or anyone you know is interested please call the office at (630) 937-8400. We now have seven parent volunteers for the art appreciation program. All grade levels except for 4th grade have a parent signed up to come in. If you are a parent of a 4th grade student and are interested in this program, please click here to sign up and learn more. Now that the parent volunteer protocols have been updated by the district we should be able to get started very soon! Next Tuesday Night our JBN Family Science Night will be coming back! All JBN families are welcome to attend, even if you did not submit a science project. There will be 2 Science Presentations in the gym with limited seating due to social distancing. Please see the “Jaguar News” section below for more information. We would love to see you there! The JBN PTO is excited to share that Trivia Night is coming back! This is a fun, adult only event that takes place at the Batavia Moose Lodge. All money raised goes to the PTO. Your child should have come home with information about this event, please click here to learn more and purchase your tickets! We hope you enjoy your weekend and we look forward to seeing our students on Monday! ~Mrs. Prentiss |
